Editor's note: This is not an April Fools Day joke. Rep. Lee has been pushing House Concurrent Resolution 36 for several years. As she remains a member of the minority party in the House, there is slim chance that this Resolution will be acted upon.
However, Rep. Lee's dystopian rhetoric compliments Comrade Gorbachev's modest proposal to the so called "Ecological Crisis". Then there is the tendency for climate change "corrective" legislation as a catch all for advancing progressive policies.
Once again green is the new red. This seems especially evident with Rep. Barbara Lee, who was a communist supporter during the 1980s. But instead of supporting Caribbean Communist commissars, it is better to wrap the socialist change around the environment.
